I fell in love with photography at the age of 16 while making home movies with my friend and collaborator David Ullman.  Besides filming on an ancient camcorder, I also borrowed his father's Pentax SLR and shot behind the scenes photos of our films.  This grew into the near-obsessive hobby of documenting nearly anything that I was involved in.

Photography to me is an individual's re-composing of an image that already exists, and this is the challenge that I enjoy.  I have since shot countless live performances for promotional use, weddings, exhibitions, artist portraits, and my travels through many beautiful and inspiring lands.  I also have extensive experience hand-printing black and white images in a darkroom.
