multi-disciplinary, collaborative performance artist
After graduation from my special effects studies, I chose not to relocate to the film world of Los Angeles but remained in Pittsburgh and started work with a multi-disciplinary performance group called SQUONK Opera. With SQOUNK I had the opportunity to use my cinematic training, but for puppets, props, and mechanical sets that were used live by the musicians/actors.
This experience inspired me to attempt live performance myself, and I enrolled in a three-work workshop making and fabricating human-sized puppets with Hoichi Okamoto at L'Institut International de la Marionette in Charleville-Mézière, France. Since this wonderful experience, I have had the opportunity to work on many collaborative performances involving dance, music, puppetry, scenography, and video projection while performing in Armenia, Berlin, Connecticut (USA), Edinburgh, Paris, London, New York, and Zurich.
